WELCOME TO HEADFIRST HYPNOTHERAPY®
Hi, I’m Andrew — but call me Andy!
I’m a Solution-Focused Hypnotherapist, Counsellor and Psychotherapist based in Upper Heyford, near Bicester in Oxfordshire. I offer a warm, inclusive and practical space where you can feel comfortable being yourself.
I know how exhausting it can be when your thoughts won’t switch off, stress builds up or your confidence takes a knock. I experienced anxiety and burnout myself while running my own businesses — and discovering hypnotherapy played an important part in helping me move forward.
Today, I support people with anxiety, overthinking, stress, sleep difficulties, confidence and a range of other challenges. My style is down-to-earth, encouraging and collaborative. Therapy is serious in purpose, but that doesn't mean it has to feel intimidating.
Whether we meet in person or online, we'll focus on what matters to you and the changes you'd like to make.
RECOGNISE ANY OF THIS?
Does any of this sound familiar?
Perhaps you know something needs to change, but you're not quite sure how to make it happen. You might look as though you're coping on the outside, while inside your mind rarely gets a break.
People come to hypnotherapy for all sorts of reasons — sometimes one specific concern, sometimes a feeling that life has become harder than it needs to be.
🟢 You're always overthinking, worrying or anticipating what might go wrong.
🟢 Stress or overwhelm makes it difficult to relax or switch off.
🟢 Self-doubt, perfectionism or your inner critic keeps getting in the way.
🟢 You're avoiding situations because of anxiety, fears or phobias.
🟢 Sleep, motivation or confidence isn't where you'd like it to be.
🟢 You're feeling stuck in familiar patterns and want to respond differently.
If you're reading this thinking, “Yes, that's me”, you don't need to have all the answers before getting in touch.
LOOKING AHEAD
What could be different?
Rather than promising a quick fix, we'll explore the everyday changes that would make a meaningful difference to you.
A calmer, clearer mind
Feeling less caught up in worry, better able to switch off and more at ease when life gets busy.
Confidence to move forward
Making decisions with less second-guessing, taking manageable steps and trusting yourself more.
More helpful responses
Approaching difficult situations, emotional reactions or old habits with greater flexibility and choice.
Everyone's experience is different, and outcomes cannot be guaranteed. The focus is on realistic, personally meaningful progress.
UNDERSTANDING THE APPROACH
How does Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy work?
Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy combines supportive, future-focused talking therapy with guided relaxation and hypnosis. Rather than spending every session analysing the past, we explore what you'd like to be different and the small, practical steps that can help you move towards it.
During hypnosis, you're guided into a relaxed, focused state. You remain aware and in control. The aim is to support calm, positive focus and more helpful ways of thinking and responding.
Sessions are collaborative, tailored to you and reviewed as we go. It's not about someone taking control of your mind — it's about helping you work towards your own goals.

Let's talk about what you'd like to change.
You don't have to keep feeling stuck, overwhelmed or held back by the same thoughts and patterns. Whether you're looking for greater confidence, a calmer mind or simply a way to move forward, positive change can start with a conversation.
An Initial Consultation is an opportunity to talk about what's been happening, what you'd like to be different and how Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy might help. I'll explain my approach, answer your questions and help you decide whether it's the right fit for you.
