Clinical Solution Focused Hypnotherapist & Psychotherapist
Hi, Im Andy (he/him) & I’m glad you’re here! 👋
I’m a fully qualified Clinical Solution Focused Hypnotherapist | Psychotherapist, based in Upper Heyford (nr Bicester) Oxfordshire.
My passion is supporting people in rewiring their brain to regain control and find lasting happiness, fulfilment and contentment. I work with adults and children/teens from 15+.
My therapeutic style is warm, engaging, professional and fun.
I know first hand about life’s curve balls, and sometimes they don’t come from external pressures – our thoughts and fears can be our own worst enemy. When we lose our focus, our self-confidence or when our mental health isn’t as good as it could be, it doesn’t just affect us, it can impact our relationships, friendships, career and family life. I’ve been there myself.
When I ran my own recruitment businesses, I started to notice signs of overwhelm, anxiety and burn-out.
That’s when I found hypnotherapy. It worked so well at reducing my anxiety and negative thoughts that I started training as a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist and I’ve not looked back.
I work with all kinds of people, and everyone is welcome in my therapy room. I also do a lot of work with the LGBTQIA+ community, men’s mental health and being a qualified personal trainer, I also especially love supporting people with weight management, self-confidence and self-esteem, plus much much more.
I work from my comfortable garden Therapy Room in Upper Heyford, Nr Bicester, Oxfordshire (OX25), so have worked with people from Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire and Warwickshire, into the West Midlands. I also work with people online.
Why was I drawn to Solution Focused Hypnotherapy
I love this style of therapeutic support, because it can deliver quicker results compared to traditional therapies (usually you will need between 6-12 solution focused hypnotherapy sessions)*. I’ve been through it myself.
As a Clinical Hypnotherapist, I use a solution-oriented approach, focusing on the present and future (not the past), what you want to achieve and making it happen. This approach empowers you to take control of your life, guiding you towards the future you desire, which is what I am all about!
I’d never want to lock you into months and months of treatment and my goal is to make myself redundant. I get you moving forward quickly so you can feel the difference. You’ll leave our sessions with knowledge and an array of tools to maintain success. These tools aren't just temporary fixes, but lifelong resources that empower you to manage stress, anxiety, and challenges more effectively, helping you cope better and building your resilience.

I DIDN’T JUST WAKE UP AS A HYPNOTHERAPIST
All my working roles have had helping and supporting people at their core.
My working life has been pretty varied, from a senior level career in Human Resources, to running my own recruitment agency. I’ve been a personal trainer and worked in the ambulance service, mental health, and addiction support roles when I moved to Oxfordshire in 2016 from London.
It’s always been about people. Understanding them, giving them space, and helping them get out of a place they don’t want to be, and moving forward to a positive future.
Im fascinated by neuroscience
I’ve always had an interest in how the mind and body work together (I did a science degree way back). Understanding how anxiety is created, the various chemical pathways and the brain and the power of hypnotherapy.
When I ran my own Oxfordshire / London based recruitment business, I started to notice signs of overwhelm and burnout. That’s when I found hypnotherapy. It worked so well that I started training as a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist.
It’s important to me that I offer my clients the best possible service
I am committed to the highest standards, so I regularly undertake additional professional development, follow a strict professional and ethical code of conduct for my hypnotherapy practice, through the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH) and National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH). I also have regular clinical supervision to keep my skills up to date and aligned. I am Enhanced DBS checked and fully insured as a Hypnotherapist.
My clients and the areas I support are all very diverse
I work with all kinds of people (aged 15+), and everyone is welcome in my therapy room. But it’s worth knowing that I do a lot of work with the LGBTQIA+ community and have a special interest in men’s mental health and business performance (especially supporting sales teams) and weight management / Loss and self-confidence (from my PT days!). I also have an interest in supporting entrepreneurs and parents with overwhelm and self-confidence.
Outside of Work…
Here’s my super supportive husband Elliot and our two dogs Bobbin and Ivy.
I love a good rummage around local Oxfordshire antique/vintage shops, working out, gardening, just started a crochet class and also do a bit of yoga. I’m also studying to be an Integrative Counsellor and a Mindfulness and Meditation teacher, to enable me to add that to my therapy services.
I’m a proud volunteer ‘Phone Befriender’, through a national charity dedicated to combating loneliness and isolation among the elderly and also support my local school (Heyford Park School) as a volunteer Enterprise Advisor via OXLEP.
I also volunteer at The Hummingbird Centre and will be starting a Student Counsellor Placement there in September 2024
Connecting people and watching them thrive is also my passion, so this year I created the Heyford Park Business Network, a regular small business networking event in Upper Heyford, Oxfordshire and ‘QueerNect’, supporting other LGBTQIA+ small business owners.
